It’s important to pay attention to how you spend your time and who you spend it with. Once those moments are gone you can’t get them back to do it over. Is the money you make worth the amount of hours you spend at work? Is it worth the time and gas you spend waiting in traffic on your commute? Is it worth the amount of stress and work you bring home with you afterwards? Really think about it…our society has become far too competitive and materialistic.
What really matters most in this life, are the bonds you build with those you respect and care for. Life is a precious gift, and inevitably death will follow. When it is our time to pass, we can’t bring any awards or trophies with us. Nor can we bring our fancy cars, homes or wardrobes. All we can bring with us, are the thoughts and memories of how we chose to live our lives…the memories of those who had an impact on us, who inspired us, as well as those who’s lives we were able to touch.
Your children, husbands, wives, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends…these are the people you need to MAKE time for. You’ll never FIND the time…Work, sports, hobbies and chores will always be there. These special people in our lives won’t. We don’t stay in physical form forever. So cherish every moment and opportunity you have to be close to them. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Be honest with others and more importantly be honest with yourself. You don’t want to upset yourself with regrets. The biggest regrets in life aren’t what we did that we wish we hadn’t, it’s what we didn’t do that we wish we had’ve. Don’t hold back…because when someone passes on, or when it is our time to pass, we can’t go back to change things.
Be sure to spend your time wisely. Don’t take life for granted and don’t put off what really matters most. Do it now! Say it now! Enjoy it now! Now is where we are…bask yourself in this moment. True happiness lies in the quality of your actions and in the quality of your time well spent with others.
Only you can choose how, where, and with whom, you spend your precious time. Great memories can be created and taken with you anywhere. Home is truly where the heart is. Since time flies by in the blink of an eye, be sure to make the most of it!
